E-Cigarettes and Public Health

Two distinct perspectives exist on e-cigarettes: one views them as nearly as harmful as traditional cigarettes, while the other sees them as valuable public health tools. Recent research indicates that e-cigarettes may be more effective than traditional nicotine replacement therapies, with about 10% of adult smokers finding success in quitting. While this percentage may seem modest, it represents a significant number of individuals given the global smoking population.
