Friendliness and Protection

Friendliness has its advantages, but it can also lead to vulnerability. Humans uniquely extend their protective instincts beyond family to include those within their social groups, recognizing strangers as part of their community. This dual nature of friendliness means that while we are capable of great compassion, we can also become fiercely protective, much like a mother bear with her cubs.
