Phone Use Anxiety

A recent UK study reveals that while many young people acknowledge the risks of phone use, they still believe the benefits outweigh these concerns. Interestingly, those who express anxiety about their phone habits often do not spend significantly more time on their devices than those who are less worried. This suggests that the pervasive negative media narrative may exacerbate feelings of anxiety and depression, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy similar to the nocebo effect seen in medicine.
