After a paramilitary tour in Laos, Dick was tasked with reestablishing contact with agents in the northeast Congo, a region ravaged by Simba control. Despite facing challenges due to a dispersed population, he sought to uncover how the rebels were acquiring weapons and ammunition, suspecting a supply route from Sudan. Drawing on his extensive flying experience, he took to the skies in a T-28 to gather crucial intelligence.
