Tools of Light

Different wavelengths of light serve as essential tools for astronomers, each revealing unique aspects of the universe. The James Webb space telescope, in particular, allows us to observe ancient galaxies that emit ultraviolet light, now shifted into the infrared spectrum due to the universe's expansion. By combining data from both the James Webb and Chandra observatory, researchers have successfully identified the most distant black hole, showcasing the power of using multiple light sources in cosmic exploration.
