Body lice infestations are a global issue, often exacerbated by disasters and poor sanitation, particularly affecting vulnerable populations such as the unhoused and displaced migrants. Despite its historical significance, epidemic typhus remains understudied and underfunded, with the potential for increased outbreaks due to climate change and rising displacement. Ignoring these realities could lead to a resurgence of this neglected disease.
