I listened to your podcast with Shawn Ryan, where you discussed health and wellness. I have been getting bloodwork done at my doctor for a few years with questions about why I feel terrible, even though I work out regularly, eat well, and take care of myself. My blood work is 'normal,' but I certainly do not feel normal. Do you have a recommendation on what the next step could be? Is there a pathway I can use to take this bloodwork and get another opinion or additional supporting tests that give me answers?
I just listened to your conversation with Joe Rogan and am really intrigued by several things you spoke about. I'm a 55-year-old woman with Celiac disease, Lupus SLE, and Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism. I am also a highly competitive triathlete competing at the top of my age group. My doctors are intrigued by my ability to continue to compete, although training and racing look different for me since 2021 when I was diagnosed. There are apparently not many people with Lupus racing as I do. Thankfully, my doctors are very supportive of what I do, but I am really interested in much of what you spoke about, as none of my doctors have ever talked about looking past the traditional blood work and then prescribing pills. I'm currently on Hydroxychloroquine, Azathioprine, Synthroid, and monthly IVIG infusions. What additional insights or recommendations do you have for someone in my situation?
Can you explain the testing process for functional medicine tests?
