Island of Snakes

Snakes on Isla de Quamada Grande have evolved potent venom to effectively hunt birds, their primary prey, despite the challenges posed by flight. While the venom's effects on humans remain largely untested, it is known to be significantly more lethal than that of their mainland relatives. Interestingly, attempts to clear the island of its snake population through burning were unsuccessful, leaving the snakes to thrive in their unique habitat.
