Neanderthal Fossil Findings

Researchers uncovered evidence that Neanderthals camped in a cave in northern Spain, revealing tools and remnants of deer butchering. A remarkable discovery included a collection of 15 marine fossils, dating back to the Late Cretaceous period, suggesting that Neanderthals may have curated these ancient specimens. One fossil even showed signs of use as a hammer, hinting at the complexity of their interactions with their environment.
