Bolivar's Bold Campaign

Bolivar's audacious strategy to liberate New Granada involved an arduous march over the Andes, facing treacherous conditions and altitude sickness. Despite the challenges, including wading through the Amazon rainforest and losing men along the way, he achieved a decisive victory at Pantano de Vargas and later overwhelmed the royalist forces at Poyaca. The triumph led to a triumphant entry into Bogota, where he was celebrated by cheering crowds and presented with a crown of laurels.
