Strategic Wins

Simón Bolívar's strategic acumen was pivotal in his quest to liberate South America from Spanish rule. Between 1817 and 1819, he made significant military progress in Venezuela, culminating in the decisive Battle of Boyacá, which marked a turning point in the liberation of New Granada, now modern-day Colombia 1. Bolívar's ability to navigate the challenging terrain of the Andes and his strategic foresight in luring Spanish forces into vulnerable positions were key to his success.

Bolivar rode into Bogota to cheering crowds, where once again, the young women dressed in white presented him with a crown of laurels.
