    Mark's initial interest in venture capital was sparked by his academic background in finance and economics, combined with his exposure to fast-growing tech markets and a love for entrepreneurship. He lived in China from 2006 to 2019, witnessing the rise of major internet companies like Alibaba and Tencent. This exposure to fast-growing tech markets fueled his passion for entrepreneurship and innovation.

    I saw the rise of a lot of these big Internet companies like the Alibabas and the Tencents of the world.

    Entrepreneurial Ventures

    Before founding Weave VC, Mark engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures, including an e-commerce business and a personal training business during his university years. These ventures provided him with practical experience and a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship.

    I started multiple businesses. I have my own e-commerce business in undergrad that I ran for a couple years.
