I've bulked up from 155 to 165 pounds and increased my caloric intake from 2500 to 3200 over about three months. Then I cut down to 2700 calories, increased my steps, and have been at that weight for a few months but still hover around the same weight and haven’t gotten much leaner. However, I am also overbooked at work, probably overtraining, and not getting as much sleep as I should. Has my metabolism caught up? Should I re-bulk for a week and try again?
If I was maintaining at 2850 calories but went on a bulk at 3000 calories and gained 6 pounds, if I cut back to 2800 calories for a week, would I notice fat loss? Then, if I went back to maintenance at 2850 calories, would I be able to keep that physique?
Does your body also get more efficient with calories during a lean bulk (caloric surplus)?
