I'm a 33-year-old male, 5'7" and 205 lbs. I'm currently running MAPS Anabolic in the pre-phase after months off and reverse dieting between 2500-3000 calories. I gained 2 lbs in the first two weeks but am now back to 205 and lost .2 lbs of muscle. Am I doing something wrong or should I just trust the process? I don't want to overeat and gain body fat.
I need your help! I'm a 30-year-old male who is 5'10", weighs around 195-200 pounds, and has a body fat percentage of 22-23%. I've been working out regularly (currently doing MAPS 15) and try to walk 8,000-10,000 steps daily. Here's where I need help: I want to get freaking strong but also lean out (lose body fat). I want to run MAPS Anabolic and MAPS Anabolic Advanced to a tee. The issue is, my maintenance calories are somewhere around 2300-2400, which seems too low for someone my size. How do I slowly increase calories while getting stronger and running those two programs? I find I do better when I eat a little higher fat and lower carb. I just feel better this way. Will this approach hinder my gains?
I'm a 32-year-old male, 5ft 8, and weigh 188lbs (13.5 stone) with approximately 23% body fat. I'm on the Anabolic program but had to stop on week 3. I'm about to start again, and I have two questions: 1) Protein vs. Calories: Adam recommends that men have 3,000+ calories and hit their target body weight in grams of protein. I find that by the time I've consumed 2,500 calories for the day, I'm already over 170 grams of protein. When I consistently hit 3,000 calories of whole food, my protein intake goes well over 200 grams. Is this an issue for my size, weight, and target weight? 2) Other Hobbies: After 7 years out, I finally found a good physio and your program that allows me to slowly get back on the pitch for football/soccer. I played my first hour this week, and my back was fine, although I felt some muscular soreness from the running. How do I get football fit while maintaining my 2 heavy strength sessions a week, considering my legs might start feeling overworked? Should I delay my MAPS program until I'm used to running more on the pitch? I will continue my trigger sessions regardless of my calendar and do bodyweight exercises like pull-ups, but I'm scared of under/overdoing it while getting back into my hobby and wanting to complete my plan.
