In the last 2 years, I have lost 110 lbs mostly through calorie restriction and intermittent fasting. My average calorie intake was around 750-800. 2.5 months ago, I started serious weight training 3 times a week with a trainer and slowly reverse dieting—adding 400 calories to my daily intake, totaling 1150 calories, and continued losing another 7 lbs while getting stronger. I am 5 ft 3 in, weigh 140 lbs, and have 30% body fat. I would like to reach 120 lbs with 22% body fat. I am also chasing the optimum level of strength as described in the MindPump TV episode. I have three questions: 1. Should I increase my calories faster (currently increasing them by 50 calories on average a week)? 2. Is my goal realistic? 3. How long is it going to take on average to reach either of these goals?
I just listened to you guys talk about reverse dieting. I'm really active with two physical labor part-time package handler jobs, averaging around 18,000 to 23,000 steps a day, and strength training twice a week with MAPS Anabolic. I'm currently at around 3000 calories, but I feel like I can definitely eat a lot more. Would my goal be to bring it up to 4000 calories a day, and if so, how would I do that?
I would like to gain significant muscle and get stronger in my lifts. I have been doing your programs for about 2 years now, mostly at maintenance calories, and I have gotten a little stronger. However, I know I need to do a reverse diet or bulk. I have been eating around 1700-1900 calories per day (maintenance or slightly below) and weigh about 120 lbs. Explain to me exactly how to do a bulk/reverse diet to achieve my goals. I’d eventually like to lean out and increase my maintenance calories to about 2400-2500 per day. Walk me through exactly how to achieve this.
