Cortisol and Overtraining

Cortisol, often labeled as the stress hormone, can create a temporary high that leads many to overtrain despite negative consequences. Those who push themselves excessively often exhibit patterns of high stress, poor sleep, and reliance on stimulants like caffeine. This cycle can result in a diminished response to cortisol over time, leaving them perpetually fatigued yet addicted to the rush of intense workouts.
