I'm considering an 800-calorie diet like David Goggins. Currently, I am at 1400 calories, but after losing my first 30 lbs, I wasn't seeing any more progress, so I went down to a 1200-calorie diet and maintained it for about 6 months, doing 45 minutes of Burn Boot Camp 5 days per week. However, there was no weight loss on the scale at all—just fluctuations of ±6 lbs from day to day. I've kept the 30 lbs off for a little over a year, but I'm not moving and have not been for the past 6 months. I have PCOS, or what health professionals refer to as a form of PCOS, so I have had no luck losing weight. I was hoping to find insight or recommendations to step it up.
When I reverse diet and have made it up to 3,000 calories, do I need to stay at that calorie level for a certain amount of time before cutting calories? I didn't notice any difference after cutting 500 calories and still didn't see changes when I started eating less. I honestly don't care what the scale says, but I would like to get rid of some stomach and chest fat that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Additionally, I recently started testosterone replacement because mine was low for my age, and I'm on high blood pressure medicine, so I have to watch my potassium levels. They also want me to monitor my cholesterol levels, which is challenging when I’m eating a higher amount of protein.
I started at 1600 calories and was able to increase to 2200 without gaining any weight, but now that I have gone back down to 1600 for my cut, I have not lost any weight. What should I do?
