Overcoming Workout Plateaus
When facing workout plateaus, it's crucial to assess your physical and mental state. High-rep programs can lead to burnout, making workouts feel daunting. Instead of switching programs entirely, consider reducing the volume to maintain motivation and effectiveness. This approach allows you to reap the benefits of higher reps without overwhelming yourself. In this clip

I've just finished phase II of MAPS Anabolic and I feel overtrained, experiencing low back pain and right knee joint pain. In the last week, my leg and back muscles seem to be sore for longer than before. I'm getting less sleep (can't generate it, despite being in bed for too long) and I have no appetite. I try to bulk up but fall short by 200 to 300 calories, despite eating high-protein and whole foods. I want to continue MAPS Anabolic and go to phase III, but I feel like the best decision right now is to postpone it to an undetermined date. I thought of doing the first week of phase III as a deload week, like using half the weight, but that may mess with my head, not knowing if I'm getting stronger. I want to continue to exercise, especially mobility work. It's not that I haven't addressed it during the first 2 phases because I did 3 times a week of stretches after trigger sessions. I feel sad that I can't complete the program right now, because one year ago I went through the whole program without any signs of overtraining. What do you recommend I should do? Should I transition to MAPS 15, even though I don't have that program? I am a 27-year-old male with 3+ years of consistent strength training experience, weighing 60kg and having 12% body fat.
I had a question about phase 3 of the Maps Split program. It’s definitely a challenge doing higher reps. I had to go a lot lower weight, and I’m not really sure about a few things.
Also, I’m trying to figure out where to go from here. I don’t feel like I got as much success as I hoped from this program. Should I run it back?
