Flavanols and Smoothies
Researchers explored the impact of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) on flavanol bioavailability in different smoothies. While banana smoothies contained the highest levels of PPO, the flavanol concentration still increased, albeit less than in blueberry smoothies or supplements. This raises questions about smoothie combinations and whether avoiding bananas could enhance flavanol absorption.In this clip
