Journaling
discusses how journaling has been a transformative tool in his life. Initially, he used it to vent during tough times, but he later shifted to a more positive approach, focusing on gratitude and daily intentions. This change helped him realize the abundance of good in his life, despite challenges 1. He also talks about how wearing the WHOOP device has turned self-discovery into a personal challenge, using biometric data to improve his recovery and performance 2.
I started journaling probably back in, like, early 2019, and I had made this shift that was interesting. When I would journal before, the reason that I would reach for the journal was to kind of vent. And it was during that period of time, a lot of negativity.

This shift allowed him to find more fulfillment and enjoyment in the process, rather than just focusing on winning 4.
I needed to have those moments of disconnecting, I think, in order to realize that it's not all about the leaderboard.
---
This mindset shift has been crucial in helping him balance his athletic and personal life.
Gratitude
Gratitude practices have significantly influenced 's approach to training and life. He emphasizes the importance of writing down what he's grateful for, which has helped him maintain a positive outlook even during challenging times 1. Additionally, he uses biometric data from WHOOP to hold himself accountable and improve his recovery and performance 2.
I would write what I was grateful for. I would write, I titled this section currently, but just, like, what's going on that day? And then set an intention for the day or a few intentions, an affirmation, and then something that I was going to do for other people that day.
---
These practices have not only enhanced his athletic performance but also enriched his personal life.
