How can I avoid making the same mistake of bulking up a lot but having it mostly be fat instead of muscle?
I’ve been in a slight surplus and eating at maintenance while performing MAPS Anabolic a couple of times around. I have put on significant muscle and some fat, and I have gotten to around 320 lbs. Now that winter has begun, which would be like bulking season, I don’t want to continue to gain as much fat as I have been while being in a surplus. However, I do want to lean out and still be in a slight surplus. How should I approach this, and which MAPS program should I follow during a slight bulk to develop everything as efficiently as possible? Additionally, would mini bulks for the winter help keep the fat gain at bay while I try to gain more muscle?
If I am following Adam Schafer's advice and eating a 200 to 500 calorie per day surplus, lifting, consuming 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day, and doing everything else right, how much lean body mass should I expect to gain per week while following the advice from the episode 1039: The Best Way to Build Muscle without Putting on Fat, Quick Warmups When Pressed for Time,...?
