If I take a week off and then jump to phase III of MAPS Anabolic, will I probably reach overtraining quite quickly? Since I don't have MAPS 15, can you give me a general guideline of how the program is structured so that I could follow that guideline without purchasing another program? Adam talks about doing the least amount of work to elicit the most amount of change. I am unemployed right now and have time for longer workouts, but once I get a job, I won't have time for 1-hour workouts. I think it would be better to do like 30-minute workouts 6 days a week. I haven't been to a big gym in a while, so it was nice to get used to doing everything again. However, I have been going to Burn Bootcamp for over 7 years now. I am 41 and starting to struggle to keep up with the high-intensity workouts. I also want to focus more on certain body parts, which is the reason I started looking into MAPS. I go 4-5 days a week and am a stay-at-home mom with 3 kids ages 13 and under.
My fitness goals are to be more "chiseled." I am 5'9" and my muscles are very bulky in size. I have a lot of mature muscle mass, but I want to be leaner and more toned looking. If that makes sense, I am 24% body fat. Abs would be great, but I’m sure that is more of a diet issue. I am gaining a lot more fat in my lower belly, which I think may be a hormone issue as well.
